Web Designer
Web designer generally is responsible for the page layouts, visual appearance and usability of a website. This role may overlap with that of a programmer and web architect. Using a combination of graphic design skills and technical knowledge of how web pages are created, the main responsibilities include:
- Closely interact with the development team at the design stage
- Create website design that will be attractive to the target user, has a proper navigation system and has all the features intented in the website
- Create web pages, source code using different technologies such as HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Action script, Cold Fusion, .Net, ASP, PHP, Perl, Flash, or using code generating programs
- Decide how images and other material will be digitally optimized and presented
- Ensure that material on the website is accessible
- Test the site for functionality in different browsers
- Fix errors
- Other website design tasks depending upon the scope of work
